Albatross

(2016) 11x17 Mixed. "Albatross was a coastal city built around a natural harbor, with the land rising to form a half-circle of hills a few miles from the water. Over time, the upper city developed, and became a metropolitan area of international merchants and tradesmen, bankers, artisans, and magicians. Imports and exports brought new and usable materials and textures into the city from regions abroad, while traveling outward were phenomenons and machinations that bore the indelible stamp of Albatross intellectual imagination.
Thousands came to the city daily, whether seeking trade, knowledge, or sights. At the setting of the last star, the inns and mansions opened their doors, and the shoppes and eateries bustled with light, life and sounds. The impossible bred and prospered in Albatross, taking flight on the duel wings of Faith and Reason."
